DRINK SOMETHING LOVELY / HOT

Cappuccino

A smaller, foamier milk coffee than our latte, with espresso still clearly in the conversation.

Scaling changes ingredient amounts, not equipment capacity or the instructions. Brew espresso shots separately; batch only within your equipment’s limits.

Ingredients

  • 36 g double espresso
  • 120 ml cold milk

How to make it

  1. Choose a cup with room for the espresso and expanded milk. Brew the double espresso.
  2. Steam the milk with a little more air than for a latte, keeping the bubbles fine rather than stiff and dry.
  3. Swirl the pitcher to integrate milk and foam.
  4. Pour into the espresso and serve straight away.
A note for your next cup

The textbook “equal thirds” picture is an approximation, not a law. Cup size and foam texture change from café to café.

An original home adaptation, not independently kitchen-tested. Drink names, sizes, and proportions vary between cafés. The illustration shows ingredients schematically, not exact measured layers.
