Scaling changes ingredient amounts, not equipment capacity or the instructions. Brew espresso shots separately; batch only within your equipment’s limits.

Ingredients

  • 18 g finely ground coffee, for an appropriately sized basket

How to make it

  1. Warm your espresso machine and dry the basket.
  2. Add 18 g coffee, distribute evenly, and tamp level. Adjust the dose if your basket requires a different amount.
  3. Brew around 36 g espresso, aiming initially for 25–30 seconds.
  4. Taste and adjust the grind on the next shot; use the full espresso guide for troubleshooting.
A note for your next cup

Allow additional time for machine warm-up. The dose must fit the basket.
